Loic Nego signs for Videoton FC

The young defender has joined from English side Charlton Athletic.

Charlton Athletic and Videoton FC have agreed terms that has resulted in Loic Nego moving to Szekesfehervar. The French full back was born in Paris on the 15th January 1991. He played for the youth academy at Nantes. He then made his debut for the club's senior team in 2010, before a move to AS Roma at the age of 20. Nego spent the 2013 spring at Standard Liege, before a spell in Hungary with Ujpest.

The 180cm tall defender then came to the attention of Charlton Athletic. He made the move to London in the spring of 2014. Nego then moved on loan to Ujpest for the 2014/15 season to continue his career. Loic Nego has made a total of 27 nb1 appearances, which includes 3 goals and 2 assists. He was part of the Ujpest team that won the Hungarian cup in 2014.

The new signing also has international experience having been a member of the French U19 side in 2010. He also played matches at U17 and U20 level.

"I have joined one of the best teams in Hungary, which I am very pleased about. The facilities here are very good and similar to those I have experienced in western Europe. This is important for me as it is the basis of everything. All is in place for us to perform well. I am looking forward to training with my new team on Monday.
