Our young, home-grown footballer, Dániel Nagy, scored again and we managed to salvage a point away from home after falling behind.
On Sunday afternoon, Vidi faced Kozármisleny in the eighth round of the Merkantil Bank League. The last time we played a competitive match in the Baranya county town was in the Autumn of 2013, when we won 4-0 in the League Cup. Interestingly, Donát Zsótér was in our starting lineup 12 years ago, just as he was this afternoon.

Head coach Gábor Boér sent the following starting lineup onto the pitch: Nagy - Kovács K., Murka, Spandler, Virágh - Nagy D., Kovács B., Kocsis G., Zsótér - Menyhárt, Varga R. Kovács P., Tiefenbach and Kemenes are still undergoing rehabilitation, while Németh D. was absent from today's match due to a thigh injury and Horváth T. due to a cold.
The home team started the match better. In the fourth minute, Máté ran down the right wing and passed back to Babinszky from the line, who took the ball six meters from the goal and aimed for the far corner, but Kovács cleared it off the goal line. In the 17th minute, following a cross from the right, Jelena had a close-range header, but Nagy made a smart save, diving under the bar to clear the ball!

Five minutes later, Dániel Nagy sent a lovely pass over the home defenders towards Varga, but Lékai, who had moved out of his goal at just the right moment, snatched the ball away from our striker, who had arrived in front of the goal. The last moment of the first half was a shot by Bence Kovács, which was blocked by the home defenders, so the teams went into the half-time break with the score at 0-0.
The second half started with a header by Jelena, but our goalkeeper easily caught the ball. In the 58th minute, however, Nagy was powerless: Máté sent a ball in over to the far post to Dominik Kocsis, and our former player lifted the ball over our diving goalkeeper into the net from a sharp angle (1-0).
In the 73rd minute, the action continued as Kálnoki-Kis neatly flicked on Nagy Gergely's kick at the halfway line, and Dániel Nagy, who made his debut last week with a goal and an assist, sprinted to get the ball away from Lékai, who had run far out of his goal, beat the Kozármisleny goalkeeper, then outran his defender and shot into the empty net from close range (1-1).
After the goal, we remained on the attack, and in the 79th minute, Kálnoki-Kis's 17-meter shot missed the Kozármisleny goal. In the 83rd minute, however, the home team threatened when Babinszky sprinted alone with the ball towards our goal. Nagy rushed out, but the home player lifted the ball over him, only for our goalkeeper to make a very good save!
In the remaining time, both teams pushed for the winning goal, but no further goals were scored, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Next week, our team will host Mezőkövesd at the Sóstói Stadium.
