MATCH REPORT

A very big victory against Tiszakécske

Our team played very good football on Sunday afternoon at the Sóstói Stadium. Dániel Nagy made his debut with a goal, but young Dániel Bertók also scored against Tiszakécske.

On Sunday afternoon, we welcomed a Tiszakécske team in the seventh round of the Merkantil Bank League. Head coach Gábor Boér made several changes to the usual starting lineup. Bence Kovács and Zsombor Menyhárt, who had performed well in the last cup match, were named in the starting lineup, but the biggest surprise was the selection of Dániel Nagy, as our home-grown U19 player had never played for the first team before. However, he deserved the opportunity, as he scored three goals in the first three rounds of this year's U19 Premier League and also performed consistently well in the age-group league.

Our team played bravely and well at the start of the match taking the game to their opponents, and we took the lead in the 9th minute after a nice corner variation. Following Varga's short corner, Bence Kovács showed some nice skill, then brought Kocsist into play, whose shot was blocked by the defenders, but the ball fell right in front of Németh, who scored from close range (1-0).

In the 15th minute, Varga found himself in a scoring position, shooting at goal from the corner of the box, but he was tackled as he slid in. Two minutes later, debutant Dani Nagy stole the ball in the visitors' half and played a nice pass to Menyhárt, who crossed to Varga, who shot at goal from 15 meters, but a visiting defender was able to clear the ball again. The first half hour saw Vidi dominate, but in the second part of the half, the visitors also had some chances.

In the 33rd minute, Lucas's 20-meter shot was deflected for a corner by a Fehérvár player, and a few minutes later, following a free kick, the ball fell to Ramos, who shot over the goal from 8 meters.

Then, in the 38th minute, something happened that every youth player dreams of: scoring a goal on their debut for the senior team. Well, Dániel Nagy's dream came true today, as Varga sprinted with the ball, the visitors' goalkeeper rushed out to clear it, and the ball ended up in front of Nagy, who noticed from 23 meters out that the goalkeeper was off his line and lifted it over him into the net with a smart lob (2-0)!

During the break, Gábor Boér made one change to the team, replacing Dániel Németh, who scored our first goal, with Donát Zsótér. The second 45 minutes started with a shot from Menyhárt, then at the end of a nice attack, Varga scored our team's third goal. Our experienced striker burst into the box and made no mistake from close range (3-0). After the goal, Varga collided with the goalpost and had to receive medical attention, but fortunately he was able to continue playing—and how! In the 56th minute, he received a good pass, ran alone toward the visitors' goalkeeper, and calmly placed the ball into the bottom left corner from 14 meters out with the help of the goalpost (4-0).

Barely four minutes had passed when the fans at Sóstói Stadium were able to cheer another Vidi goal. Two substitutes, Donát Zsótér and Dániel Bertók, were the main protagonists. Zsótér beautifully took the ball down inside the Tiszakécske 16-yard box and could have shot at goal from close range, but instead he unselfishly passed to Bertók, who was in an even better position. Bertók didn't connect well with the ball at first, but he made no mistake the second time (5-0).
