Our opponents won by a 2-0 scoreline
On Saturday at 14:00 we played our second pre-season game of the year against NK Osijek, this time in Novigrad instead of Umag. Head coach Bartosz Grzelak sent out the eleven of Tóth - Bese, Csongvai, Serafimov, Gergényi, Schön - Christensen, Pető, Katona - Szabó, Kastrati.
The first quarter of an hour passed uneventfully, when Bukvic dribbled in from the right and shot on goal, but Tóth saved confidently. In the 20th minute, Pető was left on the floor after a challenge and there was a minor scuffle on the pitch, but the referee managed to calm the tempers with a couple of yellow cards. In the 26th minute Szabó won a ball in the opponent's area, then noticed that the Croatian goalkeeper was out of his goal and tried to lob the ball into the goal from 30 metres, but our striker's shot missed the target. A few minutes before the break, Omerovic and Lovric both tried with efforts on our goal, but Tóth managed to save both shots and the teams went into the break with a 0-0 draw.
The second half started with a shot from Nejasmic, but the Croatian attempt from 21 metres was well over the target. In the 53rd minute, Christensen's corner was headed over by Csongvai. Ten minutes later Lovric's 18-metre free-kick was saved by Tóth. Then, in the 67th minute, the Croatian team, who had been playing more dangerously throughout, took the lead: Nejasmic out-jumped Omerovic, who scored a goal (0-1).
In the 77th minute, they doubled their lead, Mikolcic centred from the right and Mierez made no mistake from close range (0-2). In the last 10 minutes, Levente Szabó's shot was saved by Malenica, but the result remained the same, Osijek won 2-0.
