Our team in red and blue started the match better, in the 11th minute after Katona's through ball, Gradisar stepped out in a great position, but Banai saved the shot well. Three minutes later, after Christensen's attempted clearance from a defender, the ball bounced in front of Gradisar, who hit the crossbar with a 15-metre shot. Our team continued to threaten, and in the 18th minute, Serafimov headed in Christensen's left-wing free-kick, but Banai saved. Ten minutes later, Sigér won the ball and crossed to Christensen, who played a sweet through ball to Gradisar. Our striker tried to outwit Banai, but the keeper managed to hit the ball away.

In the 33rd minute, Katona's left-wing cross swung dangerously wide of the Újpest goal. On the other side, Mack pressed inside the penalty area where he found Radosevic, but Sigér read the situation well and Balázs Tóth collected the ball. Five minutes before the break, Mörschel's 21-metre shot towards the bottom left was saved by Balázs Tóth. From the corner kick, Radosevic spun the ball forward, which Mörschel headed at but fortunately missed the target. Just before the half-time whistle, Ambrose got hold of Serafimov and shot, but Balázs Tóth saved well.

Neither coach made a substitution at the break and the first chance of the second half came from Katona, whose shot was saved by Banai in the 49th minute. In the 60th minute, Katona's free kick was cleared off the line. In the 63rd minute, Gradisar beat his defender and scored from inside the box, but the referee, together with the VAR , decided that our striker had committed a foul during the attack and the goal was disallowed.

In the 74th minute we came close to a goal: Christensen's free-kick bounced off Banai, and Stefanelli's shot from a sharp angle bounced off the left post. Two minutes later, Újpest took the lead: after Tamás's left-wing cross, Tajti shot home (1-0). We tried to go forward with a quick attack to equalize, but after a counterattack, the home team quickly doubled their lead, with Csoboth's cross being converted by Ambrose (2-0).

Our head coach sent on Pető and Karamoko in the 79th minute for Bese and Katona, and in the 83rd minute Simon's shot was cleared off the right post. In the 86th minute, Pauljevic was caught by Karamoko and the referee awarded a penalty, but Tajti's penalty and Simon's shot from the rebound were saved with excellently by Balázs Tóth.

The result remained unchanged in the final minutes, with defending champions FTC visiting the Sóstói Stadion next Sunday.
