Our head coach Tamás Pető named Tóth - Huszti, Serafimov, Spandler, Milicevic - Katona, Csongvai, Melnyik, Pető - Gradisar, Christensen in the starting eleven. Dala, Veszelinov, Larsen, Kastrati, Stefanelli, Kovács M., Simut, Kovács P., Berki, Bedi and Babos were on the bench.

The teams didn't rush at each other from the kick off but in the 5th minute at the end of the attack on the right side, Brodic could have been in position, but the ball bounced away from him. Two minutes later, Mátyás Tajti set up Krisztián Tamás, who was tackled by Serafimov from a corner. Christensen experimented with long through balls behind the defence, but they were not accurate enough. In the 15th minute, Tajti out-jumped Ljujic, whose flat shot was quickly saved by Balázs Tóth. In the 21st minute, Pető was fouled 23 yards from the home goal; Csongvai fired the free kick over.

In the 24th minute, after a cross from the right, the ball was passed to Ljujic in the middle of the box, who curled the ball into the far top corner (1-0). In the 35th minute, thanks to our good tackling, Csongvai got the ball, which Pető curled into the middle, but Gradisar headed right into the hands of Piscitelli. Two minutes later, our Slovenian striker received a gift ball from a Újpest defender, but from a tight angle could not find the goal.
In the 42nd minute, Ljujic received a great ball and, after a cross, was in position to unselfishly play it to Brodic, who put the ball into the empty net from close range (2-0). In the minutes of extra time, another cross from the wing was nodded into the net by Joao Nunez (3-0).

At the break Tamás Pető changed three players, the trio of Melnyik, Katona, Gradisar was replaced by Bedi, Mátyás Kovács and Patrik Kovács. We started the second half in an attacking spirit, but Újpest scored: in the 53rd minute, after a set piece, we were not decisive enough in front of our goal, the ball was passed to Tajti, who shot into the far cornerl (4-0).
In the 70th minute, our head coach made his last substitution, replacing Christensen and Pető with Stefanelli and Babos. Stefanelli tested Piscitelli with a flat shot. In the 77th minute, Spandler's header and Csongvai's shot were saved by the home goalkeeper, and despite the big deficit, the team fought with honour. In the 90th minute, Vidi managed a consolation: a left-wing cross from Milicevic was headed into the net by Patrik Kovács (4-1).

The series of games continues with a home CL second leg match against Omonoia FC on Wednesday, followed by a league match against ZTE FC on Sunday at the Sóstói Stadion.
