The experienced forward arrives in Fehérvár with 256 NB I matches under his belt, as well as experience gained in foreign leagues, European cup competitions and international matches.
Our club has reached an agreement with Roland Varga, which means the 24-time Hungarian international and five-time champion striker will continue his career at Videoton FC Fehérvár!
Roland Varga was born on 23 rdJanuary 1990 in Budapest. He started his career in the Goldball youth academy, then continued at the MTK academy, before moving to Italy, where he played for Brescia for two and a half years. After a six-month loan spell at Újpest, he returned to Italy, where he also played for Foggia. In 2012, he was signed by ETO FC Győr, where he celebrated his first league title, before moving to Ferencváros in 2015. He played for the Budapest club until January 2021, winning four more league titles during that time.
He spent the 2021 spring season at MTK Budapest, then played abroad for Ittihad Kalba, Nieciecza and Sepsi OSK. In the 2024/2025 season, he returned to the NB I, playing for Paksi FC. In addition to his five league titles, he has won the Hungarian Cup four times, the League Cup once, the Super Cup once and the Romanian Cup once. Last season, he won the cup with Paks, defeating FTC in the final, and finished third in the NB I.
He has played 256 matches in the Hungarian first division, scoring 78 goals and providing 52 assists, but he has also played in 31 European cup matches, scoring nine goals, including one in the Europa League group stage.
He won a bronze medal with the Hungarian national team at the 2009 U20 World Cup. He made his senior international debut in 2014 and has played 24 matches, including the 2021 European Championship, which was partly hosted by Hungary. He has scored three goals for the senior national team.
