Dávid Zimonyi continues his career at Videoton!

We have strengthened our squad with another striker: as of today, Dávid Zimonyi has joined Videoton FC Fehérvár! The 28-year-old player terminated his contract with Vasas FC on the last day of the transfer window, allowing him to sign a one-and-a-half-year contract with our club as a free agent.

Dávid Zimonyi was born on 24th December 1997 in Mosonmagyaróvár. During his youth, he played for Kimle, Mosonmagyaróvár, and then Lipót, where he remained until July 2020. He scored goals in the county's first division and in NB III, with his most successful season being 2018/2019, when he scored 65 league and 10 cup goals. In the summer of 2020, he was signed by top-division side ZTE FC, where he scored four goals in 25 league games in his first NB I season. He scored another three NB I goals in the following half-season, then in the winter he was signed by Vasas, where he celebrated the NB II championship title in the summer of 2022. In the 2024/2025 season, he played on loan at Paks for half a year, and has also played for Vasas for the past four years.

During his career, he has scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists in 61 NB I matches, 6 goals and 2 assists in 41 NB II matches, 10 goals and 3 assists in 20 MOL Hungarian Cup matches, and has also played in two UEFA Conference League qualifiers (as a player for Paks).

"Since December, we have been in talks with several players and agents in order to strengthen our squad, and Dávid Zimonyi was among the potential players. Last week, it looked like we would be able to sign him, but then negotiations stalled for reasons beyond our control. However, we stuck to our principles and insisted that he sign with us permanently, rather than on loan. We waited, and finally managed to reach an agreement with all parties, so Zimo has become our player. He is a player with a good mentality who also has significant NB I experience. He is not a classic striker, but he can perform well in several positions up front, and in our system, he can mainly help us in the position behind the striker. His last year did not go as he would have liked, so he arrived with a great desire to prove himself, and although he had other offers, we felt from day one that he wanted to sign here.
