Vidi lost 2-1 on Thursday evening to go out of the cup.
A few minutes before 8 p.m., the teams took to the pitch for the MOL Hungarian Cup kick-off at ETO Park for the last quarter-final of the round- our old rival ETO FC hosted a Vidi side that played in their traditional red and blue kit. Before the match, it was already certain that Paks, FTC and Újpest FC would also be in the semi-finals. On Thursday, Michael Boris went for the starting line-up of Kovács D. - Bese, Fiola, Stopira, Hangya - Pinto, Alef, Lednev - Dárdai, Nikolic, Petryak, so for the first time we saw 23-time national team right-back Barnabas Bese in a Vidi shirt.

It took fourteen minutes for the first shot to come, but Lednev's long-range effort was no threat, just as Pinto's shot six minutes later did not worry the Green and Whites. In the 24th minute, the home side had a chance with Farkas, who had scored a hatrick against Nagykanizsa, shot from an acute angle, but Kovács saved the shot and it went out for a corner. In the 40th minute, Alef's fed Nikolic on the far post after a corner kick, but the Győr defenders saved at the last moment. Three minutes later we took the lead! Petryak fired a powerful shot from 18 metres into the top left corner (1-0). The half ended with a shot from Petryak into the middle of the box and we went into the dressing room with a one goal lead after 45 minutes of play.

At the break neither manager made any changes and the second half started with a Stopira header from a corner, then in the 50th minute Simcho's 21-metre shot bounced past our goal. In the 57th minute, Farkas stepped out from the edge of the box and his shot from a sharp angle was saved by Dániel Kovács with great bravery. In the 61st minute Makarenko and Nego came on for Lednev and Bese.

A minute after the substitutions, Petryak's close range shot was saved by Fadgyas, while Hangya's follow-up shot bounced off the defenders for a corner. In the 71st minute, ETO had a free kick 19 metres from goal, which was converted by former U20 player Máté Kiss (1-1). A minute later Attila Fiola received his second yellow card and the match continued with Vidi down to ten men. In the 75th minute, Vitális found himself in a shooting position, hitting the side netting from inside the penalty area. Five minutes later Michael Boris made another two changes - Nikolic and Petryak were replaced by Funsho and Rus. In the 83rd minute, Dárdai's free-kick gave Stopira a great chance, but the goalkeeper, who was out of position, saw our full-back lift the ball over the goal.

Five minutes before the end of normal time, Rus outjumped the home defenders, but failed to head home Dárdai's corner. In the 88th minute, Dárdai's shot was cut out by a defender for a corner, narrowly missing the Győr goal. In the 92nd minute ETO had a penalty, which Farkas converted (2-1). Kodro came on for the last minute, replacing Dárdai, but the result remained the same, as we went out of the MOL Hungarian Cup.
